E1 to make spectacular return to Saudi Arabia as it opens second season in Jeddah

The UIM E1 World Championship, the world’s first and only all-electric raceboat championship, will return to the stunning Jeddah Corniche in 2025 for the first race of its second season. After making its global debut in Saudi Arabia at the E1 Jeddah GP last February , the championship’s stunning RaceBirds will re-enter familiar waters on January 24 and 25, 2025. Jeddah is the first stop of an expanded calendar this is set to feature seven events across multiple continents.

Presented in partnership with the Saudi Ministry of Sport and the Saudi Water Sports and Diving Federation, the racing at the Jeddah Corniche will take place close to shore on the sparkling waters of the Red Sea, ensuring a thrilling experience for fans and pilots alike.

Nine teams are already confirmed to compete in Season 2’s opening race, with the league also hinting in recent months of more teams to come before next season. The teams each feature male and female pilots sharing the driving duties and are owned by some of the biggest names on the planet including Will Smith, Marc Anthony and Steve Aoki from the world of entertainment, Rafael Nadal, Sergio Perez, Tom Brady, Virat Kohli and Didier Drogba from the world of sport and Marcelo Claure from the world of entrepreneurship.

In its first season E1 raced at some of the world’s most famous and glamorous locations, incuding Venice, Monaco, Puerto Banus and Lake Como.  The inaugural season wrapped up with NFL legend Tom Brady’s Team Brady being crowned Champions of the Water ahead of the Will Smith-owned Westbrook Racing and Marc Anthony’s Team Miami powered by Magnus.

New audiences around the globe will witness the thrilling on-water action for the first time, as the championship welcomes new race locations in the 2025 season, including a race in the United States alongside the Visit Qatar E1 Doha GP announced last month, with more to be revealed shortly. The calendar also includes a return to season one locations Jeddah, Monaco and Lake Como.
