E1, the world’s first all-electric raceboat Championship, today welcomes Team Monaco who are set to compete in the 2026 season battle to be Champions of the Water.

Team Monaco was revealed in the Principality with HSH Prince Albert in attendance. The team is aligned with the values and ambitions of both the Prince Albert II Foundation and its mission to regenerate the oceans and the Princess Charlene Foundation that aims to improve education through sport for young people to help reduce drownings.

Set to make its debut in the 2026 season of the UIM E1 World Championship presented by PIF, Team Monaco will bring together the principality’s rich maritime heritage and sustainability leadership.

As a nation synonymous with elegance, innovation, and sustainability, Monaco has long championed initiatives that protect our oceans and promote cleaner technologies.

Founded and co-owned by Monaco-based entrepreneur Chris Taylor and French 11-time kite-ski world champion and athlete Maxime Nocher, Team Monaco builds on this long-standing commitment and reflects the Principality’s shared dedication to sustainable mobility and marine innovation.

Together, they bring exceptional experience in elite water sports and a shared ambition to represent Monaco on the global stage as they are set to compete for the 2026 Champions of Water crown.

Team Monaco becomes the latest team to join the Championship, which is now broadcast in over 140 territories, as the competition continues to expand to new teams, continents and race locations.

Monaco is already established as a pivotal race on the E1 calendar, hosting one of the most prestigious and anticipated stops of the season on the waters of Port Hercule.

The Principality is also home to La Belle Classe Academy, a unique training and development hub supported by the Yacht Club de Monaco, where aspiring E1 pilots receive advanced instruction in sustainable racing and marine technology. The Academy continues to play a crucial role in nurturing the next generation of electric raceboat talent.

We’re thrilled, therefore, to welcome Team Monaco as E1 continues to inspire the next generation of sustainable innovators. This is a proud moment for us as we continue to grow this Championship.”

Rodi Basso, founder and Chief Executive Officer, E1 said: “We are honoured to welcome Team Monaco to E1 from 2026. Monaco has been a cornerstone of the E1 calendar, and the launch of its own team takes this relationship to new heights.

“With the Principality’s leadership in sustainability and innovation, Team Monaco perfectly reflects our ongoing commitment to ocean preservation and our belief that sport can be a driver for positive change both on and off the water. We can’t wait to see them on the start line in 2026.”
