E1’s ‘Race to Hong Kong’ revealed with seven events around the world to form first season test

The UIM E1 World Championship Season 1 will feature seven thrilling races around the world, culminating in a spectacular final event in Hong Kong. The season will encompass Europe, the Middle East and Asia with globally recognised cities hosting E1 races. Hong Kong will host the finale of the first 3 seasons of the E1 World Championship in 2024, 2025 and 2026, a fitting and iconic destination that aligns perfectly with a truly international series that launches in Jeddah, Saudia Arabia on February 2 and 3 2024.

E1, the world’s first and only all-electric race boat championship, will then go on to visit some of Europe’s most glamorous locations over the Northern Hemisphere summer, firstly reaching Venice on May 11 and 12, with the world famous waters of the Venetian lagoon hosting E1’s RaceBirds.

An enclave within the city of Marbella, globally synonymous with glamour and lifestyle, Puerto Banús will host E1’s third Grand Prix on June 1 and 2. Later that month on June 29 and 30 Geneva will see its world-famous lake host an evening race to give fans an all-new experience, before the series heads to Monaco on July 26 and 27 for what’s sure to be one of the calendar highlights. After debuting the RaceBirds racing side by side at World Port Days in 2023, E1 returns to Rotterdam on September 7 and 8 for the final race of the summer.

These events all form part of the ‘Race to Hong Kong’ – the official Championship Standings – as the debut season then concludes with a spectacular finale on the globally recognised waters of Victoria Harbour in Hong Kong on November 9 and 10. The E1 Hong Kong Grand Prix is expected to attract thousands of spectators from around the world to attend in person and experience the ultimate electric boat race on the waters of the picturesque Victoria Harbour in front of the city’s iconic skyline.

We are most excited to see the debut of UIM E1 World Championship in 2024, and are proud that Hong Kong will host the grand finale of the first three seasons of the championship and will be the only East Asian host city of its inaugural season, highlighting Hong Kong’s reputation as a world-renowned events capital and one of the best destinations for tourists around the world.

Up to ten teams of male and female pilots will compete in the first season chasing the E1 Itle of ‘Champions of the Water’. E1’s teams are owned by some of the biggest names in their fields from Tom Brady, Rafael Nadal, Virat Kohli, Didier Drogba and Sergio Pérez in sport to Steve Aoki and Marc Anthony in the world of music and entertainment.

E1’s owners and cities also share the championship’s mission to drive change and make a positive impact on marine mobility.

The list of names in the Season 1 calendar shows the immense confidence our city stakeholders have in E1 before the first race has even started and there’s sIll so much more to come from the championship.
