Team Brazil to hit the startline next month at the E1 Jeddah GP

With just a month to go until its first ever race, the UIM E1 World Championship is forging new frontiers with the exciting announcement of Team Brazil. Founded by technology entrepreneur Marcelo Claure, Team Brazil will be on the startline on February 2- 3, 2024, in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, for the first-ever E1 race, alongside other teams owned by some of the world’s biggest celebrity names, among them Tom Brady, Rafael Nadal, Marc Anthony, Steve Aoki, Sergio Perez, Didier Drogba, and Virat Kohli.

Marcelo is a globally-recognized entrepreneur and investor with a proven track record of creating #1 businesses and teams. E1 Team Brazil is Claure Group’s first racing venture, combining Marcelo’s affinity and passion for Latin America with his love of competitive sports.

Marcelo Claure

Up to 10 teams will compete in the inaugural UIM E1 World Championship season, each battling it out to secure the coveted E1 title of Champions Of The Water. Each team will choose two pilots to share driving duties throughout the event, with regulations mandating each team to select a mixed gender pilot line-up to ensure equal opportunities in the sport.

After the debut in the Middle East, the championship schedule includes races in Venice, Italy on May 11th and 12th, Puerto Banús in Southern Spain on June 1st and 2nd, Geneva, Switzerland on June 29th and 30th, Monaco on July 26th and 27th, Rotterdam, Netherlands on September 7th and 8th, and the decisive race in Hong Kong on November 9th and 10th.

One of the most in-demand properties in sport at the moment is a place on the E1 start line, and we are delighted to see Marcelo and Team Brazil claim one of those spots for 2024. It’s also a milestone for the championship as we enter South America for the first time, and progresses our desire for E1 to be a truly global series.
