UIM E1 World Championship Sustainable Development Policy

E1 Series stands at the vanguard of revolutionising marine sports through our pioneering electric powerboat racing championship. Our ambition goes beyond the competitive spirit; we aim to redefine benchmarks in sustainable event management. With a deep-seated recognition of our environmental and social responsibilities, E1 Series is committed to practices that meet the ISO 20121 standard requirements for sustainable event management, setting a new precedent for the industry.

Every aspect of our mission is closely interlinked with our foundational values—Dream Big, Team Up, Be Water, My Friend, Do It With Passion, Embrace The Race—and our complete alignment with the Governing Principles of Sustainable Development, such as stewardship, integrity, transparency, and inclusivity. This ethos guides our approach to managing environmental and social impacts, ensuring ethical practices, and fostering open communication with all stakeholders.

Within our journey towards sustainability, our objectives and aims are multifaceted yet focused, driven by our dedication to environmental leadership, inclusivity, and the innovative electrification of our sport:

1. Environmental Leadership and Impact

To establish by the end of season 2 a comprehensive carbon management plan. Paving the way for carbon neutrality, alongside implementing robust practices in environmental management to mitigate our impact across all event-related activities and operations.

E1 Series is ardently working towards fostering a sustainable environmental ethos. By integrating sustainable methodologies across all event operations, focusing on energy efficiency, waste reduction, and conscious resource use, we aim to significantly minimise our footprint and promote environmental guardianship.

2. Equality and Inclusiveness

To design and implement by the conclusion of season 3 an extensive Social Impact and Legacy Program, with the goal of involving local communities in sustainable practices and educational efforts to boost social inclusiveness, foster community engagement, and establish a lasting positive legacy through our events.

Our vision extends beyond the waves; it encompasses the creation of a sustainable and inclusive brand that mirrors our promise to gender equality and diversity.

3. Electrification and Innovation as Catalysts for Change

To establish a detailed stakeholder engagement plan over the next three seasons with the aim of promoting the adoption of electric vehicles (EV), sparking technological innovation, and advancing sustainability practices in the marine industry through the collaboration on key projects and initiatives with strategic partners.

At the helm of powerboat racing’s electrification, E1 Series is spearheading strategic collaborations and technological innovations. Our initiatives are not only about competition; they aim to foster the infrastructural development essential for the sustainable growth of electric powerboat racing, illustrating our passion for innovation and progress.

As leaders in sustainable sports management, we at E1 Series pledge to continuously evaluate and enhance our sustainability practices and management system. We are constantly striving to define new benchmarks in responsible event management, maintaining the integrity of our operations, and ensuring transparency in every aspect of our work, including a firm commitment to adhering to all legal and other requirements.

Engaging regularly with both internal and external stakeholders, we share our sustainability journey and welcome feedback to refine our efforts. Collaborating closely with our partners, teams, host cities, local communities, and the wider marine sports ecosystem, we are dedicated to continually improving our contribution to sustainability.

This policy is reviewed annually and updated as necessary to mirror our growing pledge to sustainable development. Publicly available on our website (www.e1series.com) and upon request, this document underscores our devotion to transparency and inclusivity on our path toward a more sustainable future.
